Art & Design Classes in Lanarkshire

Artsy Classes are delivered by a fully qualified and experienced secondary school art & design teacher.

Classes are well structured, fun and designed to nurture and promote creative learning.

Artsy Classes are delivered in Blocks

All art materials and resources will be provided.

January – February – 5 Week Block

Motherwell – Thursday Nights from 9th Jan – 6th Feb

6pm-7:30pm  for P6-S3

This  block will cover drawing, painting, making and lots of learning and fun! A wide variety of materials will be used and each class will be well structured to promote learning.

*The last class in each block will be exhibition night! Parents and friends will be welcome to come for the last part of the class to celebrate our young people’s achievements* After the exhibition all work from the block can be taken home.


£7 per child for each class or £30 for the 5 week block (upfront payment required).

If paying a class at a time you can pay on the night or pay beforehand by bank transfer (contact me for details).

We aim to provide art and design classes for young people from Motherwell, Bellshill, Wishaw, Hamilton, Coatbridge and Airdrie and beyond! This is why we operate at a central Motherwell location with good transport links.

Artsy Classes in Motherwell

Classes  will take place in Motherwell South Parish Church Hall in the former Church building (the sports hall).

There is disabled access and toilets close by. Parents can park in the car park across the road on Gavin Street, on Gavin Street itself or in the car park at the rear of the Church.

About Us

Artsy Classes have been a long time in the making and developed because of AnnMarie’s desire to provide creative young people with a place to learn and flourish beyond the school environment.

Meet the Teacher!

AnnMarie Carlin

AnnMarie studied Textile Design at Heriot Watt University and graduated in 2005 with a first class BA HONS degree in Textile Design. She was also awarded the Dr Oliver medal for the best overall design student. Her own work has sold privately and to companies such as Donna Karen New York. After graduating AnnMarie worked as an Art Therapist in various residential homes and care homes throughout the Central Belt. In 2007 she studied at Glasgow University to complete her Post Graduate Diploma in Education and became an art & design teacher.

Since then she has worked in schools in North Lanarkshire, West Lothian and she spent a year travelling and teaching art & design in Sydney Australia. For the past 10 years she has been based at a large secondary school in North Lanarkshire where she teaches S1-S6.

AnnMarie is also a busy mum of two small girls. She is passionate about the benefits of creativity in education and her aim is to help all of her young artistic students reach their full potential.
